Job Title: Software Developer (PHP Symfony)
Location: Fully Remote (with occasional office visits)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE
Overview:
I'm currently partnering with a market-leading manufacturing company that holds a substantial share in their industry. They're looking for a talented Software Developer to join their team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions. The role offers the flexibility of fully remote work, with occasional office visits for team collaboration. You'll be joining a close-knit team of 5 developers, all reporting into the Head of Development, who brings over 18 years of industry experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and Symfony
- Work with MySQL databases to design and optimize queries
- Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions
- Utilize GitLab for version control and integrate with CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to front-end development using JavaScript, with a focus on React or Vue.js
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing codebases
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with PHP and Symfony
- Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with modern frameworks
- Solid understanding of MySQL and database design
- Familiarity with GitLab for version control
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of React or Vue.js for front-end development
- Experience leading new project developments
- Background in software project architecture or writing technical specifications
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and development best practices
