We are currently working with a Midlands Local Council who are recruiting for a skiilled and expereienced Estates Surveyor to assist in the Valuation and Estates Management Service to the Council.

Estates Surveyor

Start: ASAP

Rate: £560 per day Inside IR35

Duration: 3-6 months initially

Hybrid Working arrangement: West Midlands

Responsibilities

  • To inspect, survey, value, negotiate, report upon and conclude cases allocated to the postholder embracing: -a. Acquisitions (both by Agreement and Under CPO powers). b. Disposals c. Negotiation and processing of leases (renewals/rent reviews), licences, assessment of premiums and service charges
  • To assist in providing strategic advice to other Departments and Members of the Council in respect of the Corporate Estate
  • To deal with enquiries from the general public and advise upon matters concerning appropriate property related issues
  • To prepare evidence for arbitration, independent expert referrals, Valuation Tribunals, Lands Tribunals or Court as directed

Requirements

  • Have either passed the final RICS (General Practice Surveying) examination, or have an equivalent degree or diploma giving full exemption from the final professional examination of the RICS
  • Have a thorough knowledge of current legislation and valuation technique affecting acquisitions (by agreement and under CPO powers) disposals (e.g. freehold/leasehold etc) of property interests, landlord and tenant, non-domestic rating and buildings insurance matters.
