Join us as our Contract Accountant, based in our Bridgwater site covering across our existing distribution facilities in Avonmouth and Bridgwater. Youll be a key player and central to the successful delivery of our journey. We provide supply chain management in warehousing and distribution for deliveries to Hinckley Point C build programme, a mega-project that is playing a crucial role in helping Britain achieve Net Zero.

Youll report into our Infrastructure Finance Manager, and youll be partnering with our senior operational and account management teams. Holding financial responsibility for our EDF contract, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. Were looking for your passion and results focused approach to drive financial performance and compliance on our contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring timely pricing analysis, accurate reporting, and trust.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate and realistic budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide regular updates to Senior Management internally and externally.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and interpret financial reports, including monthly P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for improvement.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and internal control frameworks. Identify and mitigate potential financial risks.
  • Commercial Insights: Provide commercial acumen and support decision making across the business.
  • Contractual knowledge: Be knowledgeable of the customer contract held, identify risks and opportunities with the Operations team.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Continuously evaluate and improve existing financial processes and systems, particularly during finance system migration. Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • System accountability: Use the CEMAR contracting system to identify messages and notification to respond to customer queries.

What will you bring to our team?

  • A fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA). Part qualified with experience in a related finance role will also be considered.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
  • Proven mathematical and modelling skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Demonstrate drive, energy, and a commitment to creating best practice in the financial spectrum.
  • Be proactive, inquisitive with a passion for challenging teams to drive performance.
  • Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Able to travel to the customer site in Bridgwater 3 times a week.
  • Has (or is able to obtain) BPSS Security Clearance and CIBT Heal.
