Systems/Project Accountant - Bridgwater

We are looking for an experienced Systems/Project Accountant to join our clients growing organisation near Bridgwater. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take a lead role in managing financial systems, cash flow, and balance sheets, while driving continuous improvement across finance and operations.

This newly created role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape financial processes and systems, working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead and support various projects aimed at enhancing financial systems, processes, and overall efficiency.
  • Systems Management: Work with multiple systems to improve functionality and ensure they meet the organisation's evolving needs.
  • Collaboration Across Departments: Collaborate with finance and support teams to drive improvements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Contribute to the analysis and reporting of financial data, helping to identify areas for improvement and optimising resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams to understand business needs and ensure the delivery of valuable project outcomes.
  • Compliance & Financial Integrity: Ensure that all systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and financial best practices.
  • Financial Accounting Experience - Ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting, supporting system enhancements and efficiency improvements
  • Systems & Software Experience - Experience with Adaptive Software or similar financial platforms preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified by experience or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or similar).
  • Industry: Manufacturing preferred, but open to other industries
  • Strong systems accounting or cost accounting background.
  • Experience with finance, assets, and system improvements.
