Overview
We are building a talent pool of experienced Construction Engineers across HVAC, electrical, and mechanical disciplines for future opportunities within the UK's nuclear new build program. This is not a current vacancy, but rather an opportunity to be considered for future positions as they arise at projects including Hinkley Point C (Somerset) and Sizewell C (Suffolk).

About the Future Opportunities

When positions become available, successful candidates will join engineering teams responsible for delivering complex construction work packages across various scopes including:

  • HVAC systems design and installation
  • Electrical infrastructure and building services
  • Mechanical systems and equipment
  • Multi-discipline coordination and integration

Potential Role Scope

Depending on your discipline and the specific opportunity, responsibilities may include:

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Delegating responsibilities to team members and coordinating with works leads
  • Leading, managing, and motivating engineering teams
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and client representatives
  • Ensuring effective cross-discipline coordination

Scope Management & Documentation

  • Defining work scope boundaries and aligning with construction activities
  • Maintaining compliance with latest works information
  • Reviewing and updating technical documentation
  • Driving deliverables from inception to final approval
  • Prioritizing documentation to align with construction plans

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrating strong HS&E leadership
  • Ensuring adherence to nuclear safety and site license requirements
  • Assessing resource levels to maintain effective support

Construction Work Pack Delivery

  • Delivering comprehensive Construction Work Packs
  • Utilizing project management systems for work management
  • Ensuring compliance with Work Authorization and Permit systems
  • Facilitating safe access routes to work areas
  • Overseeing technical surveys to support construction

Required Experience & Qualifications Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering (HVAC, Electrical, or Mechanical)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge in your discipline
  • Experience with construction work pack development
  • Understanding of construction methodologies

Discipline-Specific Requirements:

  • HVAC: Building services and ventilation system experience
  • Electrical: Power distribution and control systems expertise
  • Mechanical: Pipework, equipment installation experience

Desirable:

  • Nuclear or regulated industry experience
  • Experience with construction management systems
  • Professional engineering qualification (CEng/IEng)
