Mechanical Project Engineer
Hinkley Point, nr Bridgwater (first 6/9 months in Bristol)
Full time, Permanent
9 day working fortnight. (37 hours on average)
Hybrid working opportunities.
Up to £65,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance (Travel and accommodation reimbursed for those travelling further afield)

We are partnered with a tier 1 engineering services provider who are part of the exciting Hinkley Point C nuclear power station build. They are currently looking to add an mechanical project engineer from a nuclear/heavily regulated building services background to their team on a full time, permanent basis. Â
The Role:
- Provide engineering and management resource to direct, supervise and support all project related operations.
- Ensure that project operations are undertaken in compliance with all relevant standards and legislation through appropriate formal procedures. operations.
- Prepare operational project programmes in line with main project programme and identify labour and material procurement deadlines. Carry out required tasks to ensure that identified deadlines are met. Monitor this on a daily/weekly basis as appropriate.
- Prepare major material and master material procurement schedules.
- Review and interpret proposed designs, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with our obligations and appropriateness to required function and recognised standards.
- Monitor individual project commercial performance against targets through regular review of job cost reports and detailed work in progress reports.
The Requirements:
- Educated to ONC level (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (Piped Systems, HVAC, Drainage Heating & Cooling) working towards HNC (Preferred)
- Educated to Nuclear installation standards including safety critical systems
- Working towards Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ or other recognised qualification.
- Track record of delivering projects in complex environments, from concept to handover, within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
- Have experience in working with Qualified equipment products and services including supporting the EQ process
- Have an understanding of nuclear safety culture and have experience working on projects where this forms the basis of the Health & Safety agenda
