Design Change Engineer - HPCAbout the Opportunity

We are seeking a Design Change Engineer to join HPC and play a key role in ensuring the project's ongoing success. As a vital member of the Technical Engineering Group within the Joint Design Office (JDO), you will oversee the resolution of emergent design issues that span multiple work areas. This role offers broad exposure to various aspects of the project and an open remit to solve complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Issue Resolution - Manage and deliver technical solutions for emergent transverse works issues, particularly those with increasing safety case implications as the project advances.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships across JDO R&A, JDO DT, Responsible Designer, Project Managers, Contract Managers, and construction contractors.
  • Interface Management - Coordinate with TCO PWRT and the TCO Safety Case team, as required.
  • Process Improvement - Identify and implement initiatives to enhance project delivery.
  • Governance & Reporting - Participate in Configuration Management Board meetings and contribute to JDO Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.
What We're Looking For

  • A pragmatic and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to independently resolve straightforward technical issues of low complexity/risk within your discipline.
  • A degree in engineering, ideally working toward chartership (Civil Engineering is particularly desirable at this project stage).
  • Some design or project experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with EPR building, plant, and systems is an advantage.
