Job description
We are looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to work for a civil construction business located a Hinkley Point C. They have a large scope or looking after structural and rebar and pre pour concrete inspections
Responsibilities
The Setting Out Engineer is responsible for providing accurate and precise setting out points, ensuring that the structure or infrastructure being built aligns with the project plans and specifications.
This role will be focused on setting concreate structures and monitoring working activities are aligned with drawings and specifications.
You will have experience of
• Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels to establish accurate points, lines, and levels on-site.
• Interpret and analyse construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate setting out of construction elements.
• Monitor and inspect the quality of work, ensuring it meets project requirements and to nuclear standards.
• Identify any discrepancies or deviations from plans and work closely with the project team to resolve them.
• Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all setting out activities, measurements, and quality checks.
• Prepare progress reports and provide feedback to senior engineers and Project Managers.
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or related field advantageous
• 4+ years of experience in setting out engineering or a similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of surveying equipment (e.g., Trimble is a must, total stations, GPS, laser levels) and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Rate £350 - £500 per day (dependant on pay route (PAYE or umbrella - inside IR35 only)
