Our client is a leading industrial assembly & manufacturing company, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for a charismatic, driven and hands-on Health & Safety Manager to build on success and improvements.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage all health & safety legislations & laws in the manufacturing workplace
- Responsible for health & safety aspects across all of the production/assembly facility
- Prevent accidents, injuries and work-related illness
- Working day to day between the office and in the workshop monitoring daily safety
- Will be expected to travel up to sister site in Northamptonshire 1-2 times a month to carry out training
- Implement health & safety procedures and ensure they comply with law
- Conduct risk assessments, safety compliance assessments & reports
- Train all employees on health & safety procedures and any new ones that come in
- Make all employees aware of the benefits of PPE and adhere to the correct usage
- Develop a correct procedure for reporting accidents
- Manage emergency procedures and first aid procedures
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Ideally be an experienced Health & Safety Manager - understand H&S policies & standards
- Must be happy working in a small manufacturing/assembly environment
- Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessments
- Be an open character, understand that there are flaws and not everything will be perfect all the time
- Strong communicator - able to communicate to all levels, carry out training & presentations
- Health & Safety trained - NEBOSH Certified
- Ideally have come from a workshop / production / engineering background
- Happy to travel up to sister site in Northamptonshire 1-2 times per month to carry out training
- Must be experienced in keeping records up-to-date records and reporting
- Knowledge of first aid, fire alarm procedures, PPE requirements & legislation
