Live in Housekeeper Job in Somerset

We have an exciting opportunity with a returning client of Greycoats. They are seeking a dedicated housekeeper to care for their beautiful 7-bedroom farmhouse in Somerset, situated on 300 acres of land. The family maintains informal yet high standards.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, possess a positive and proactive attitude, and enjoy working with others. The family consists of four children, ranging in age from a baby to 8 years old. They also have two dogs, a cat, a pig, and horses, so being animal-friendly is essential. Experience with horses is a plus, but not a requirement.

On-site, you will work alongside a full-time groundskeeper and an estate manager, to whom you will report, as well as a full-time nanny. This role is dynamic and varied, with no two days being the same. The entire team collaborates and supports one another, making it a great environment to work in and for teamwork.

Duties to include:

  • Housekeeping to a high standard
  • Organisation of the home
  • Laundry, ironing and fabric care to include dry cleaning
  • Preparing the guest cottage for guests
  • Helping prep simple family meals, The ability to cook evening meals if the person enjoyed doing this would be a bonus also. Although this is mostly taken care of by the nanny and Mum.
  • Provisioning for the household
  • Running errands and shopping
  • Driving duties Shared with the Nanny and Mum
  • Animal care shared with the other staff
  • Liaise with contractors
  • House and animal sitting when the family are away shared with the other staff members

The ideal person would be friendly, relaxed with an unflappable nature. Have good timekeeping skills and organisation skills. You will need to be a driver with a clean license. A communal car is provided for staff.

Start date: As soon as the right person is found.

Working week: Ideally 5 days a week with one half day on the weekend you would have Wednesday afternoon off. These hours are preferred although an alternative schedule will be considered if someone only wants to do Monday - Friday. The client would consider fewer hours during the week and transferring those hours to a Saturday or a Sunday.

Hours: 40 hours a week, 9-5 with flexibility to help out during busy periods, time off will be given in lieu or overtime.

Salary: £40,000 GPA

Accommodation: Separate Large 1 bedroom apartment. Well-behaved Pets will be considered and partners if they are willing to help out from time to time on an ad-hoc basis. All bills included.
