Your new school

This primary school in the Bridgwater area is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their SEN staff as soon as possible. This school is in search of a specialist SEND Teaching Assistant who has already had experience in this area as they need to hit the ground running. This school is highly regarded and always spoken well about, from teachers who have worked there to parents who send their children to this school.

Your new role

With an SEND role, you will be working on a 1.1 basis with a particular child that has these needs, catering to the student's emotions and wellbeing more so than their academic activities. This role is initially a part-time role. You will be with this certain student day-in, day-out and get to learn their ways of understanding knowledge. You will be looking after the emotional and social needs of these children, supporting their mental health and making their day run smoothly.

Working pattern: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday-8.45am-3.30pm. Full 5 days from September.Requirements to succeed in your new role

  • Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable
  • Two working references from your most recent jobs that apply relevance to the position
  • Previous experience with children with SEND needs is desirable.
  • A DBS on the update service is required (this can be applied for with Hays).
