Solar Design Engineer - Exciting Opportunity with a Leading Renewable Energy Company!

Are you a skilled Solar Design Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking company driving the UK's transition to renewable energy? I’m recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected renewable energy firm that specializes in designing and installing solar PV systems for commercial, industrial, and large-scale applications. With a track record of successful projects, this company is at the forefront of innovation in the sector.

About the Role:As a Solar Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing roof-mounted and ground-mount PV systems. This position requires expertise in electrical engineering, solar design software, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-performing solar solutions.

Key Responsibilities:? Design and develop solar PV and battery storage systems? Conduct technical analysis, system simulations, and energy yield assessments? Oversee projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring timelines and budgets are met? Ensure compliance with grid regulations, planning approvals, and industry standards? Collaborate with engineering teams, manufacturers, and contractors for seamless execution? Produce detailed technical drawings (block plans, string designs, electrical schematics, and inverter simulations)? Solve complex engineering challenges to optimize system performance? Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards? Prepare engineering reports, documentation, and as-built drawings

Requirements:? Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field? 3+ years of experience in solar project design and engineering? Strong knowledge of commercial and utility-scale PV systems? Proficiency in PV design software (PV*Sol, PVsyst, Helioscope), AutoCAD, QGIS, and MS Suite? Understanding of grid integration and industry regulations? Full UK driving license (max 3 points)
