Electromechanical Technician

We have a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-established, internationally renowned business who specialise in the design and manufacturing high quality mechanical and electromechanical equipment for innovative sectors, including the Energy and even the Space sector!

We are looking for an Electromechanical Technician to work on Hinkley Point C to assist the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Polar Cranes site. As part of a team supporting a major nuclear power project, you will oversee installation, participate in commissioning, and provide technical assistance for these critical electromechanical systems, ensuring they function effectively throughout the project lifecycle.

The role is on a 10/4 rotation, and there will be on call responsibilities as part of the role, so living within an hour of site would be essential.

This position is ideal for an experienced electromechanical engineer with a background in automation or electrotechnics. If you thrive in dynamic, safety-critical environments and have a proven track record in crane systems or heavy industrial equipment maintenance, this role will provide both challenges and opportunities to grow your expertise in the nuclear sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the installation of Polar Cranes at Hinkley Point C.
  • Participate in the commissioning process of Polar Cranes to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep cranes in optimal condition.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance and troubleshoot electromechanical systems.
  • Adhere to stringent quality, safety, and security regulations within a nuclear environment.
  • Contractual working hours are 40 per week in average, will be expected to work in shifts, if weekends are worked, there will be a markup.

In return you'll receive a salary of 75,000 per annum, Paid for on call duty (50/day), a matched pension up to 8% and 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
