Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a MEH Engineer with a background in nuclear or defence, to be engagedon a staffbasis and located in Bridgwater.

The successful candidates will be expected to have knowledge and experience in several of the following areas:

  • Design and assembly of rotating equipment (pumps, motors, etc.) and valves.
  • Design and assembly of tanks.
  • Design and assembly of Heat exchangers and associated regulation and security valves systems.
  • Piping design and erection
  • Welding
  • Design and assembly of Dedicated I&C of complex systems.
  • Power supply design and assembly

Qualifications:

  • Degree or higher degree in relevant discipline
  • Registered member of a relevant professional institute or qualifications and experience suitable to lead to membership
  • Experience in highly regulated environment e.g. nuclear, aircraft, petrochemical etc.
  • Experience of working in the design and maintenance of heavy mechanical power generation equipment
  • Experience in the development of mechanical related safety cases
  • Experience in liaising with the HSE Nuclear Directorate or other regulatory body
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance in a highly regulated environment
  • Decision making capability for resolution of safety case issues
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
