About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction/Pre-Construction Lead to join our team at Hinkley Point C, the UK's first new-build nuclear power station in a generation, pivotal to the UK's NetZero objectives. This role will play a key part in managing construction activities, ensuring alignment with safety and quality standards, and contributing to resource optimization across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Management: Develop and implement systems for overseeing both permanent and non-permanent works, ensure adequate resourcing and logistics, and maintain compliance with safety and client expectations.
  • Project Risk Management: Maintain a detailed project risk register, leading risk mitigation efforts and coordinating risk reduction forums.
  • Pre-Construction Planning: Actively participate in scheduling, technical analysis, and the preparation of key project documents such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and lift plans. Develop a comprehensive temporary works strategy.
  • Design Management: Ensure design alignment with project scope and manage interactions with stakeholders, overseeing changes in scope or design where necessary.
  • Handover to Operations and Post-Construction: Prepare work packs for operations, conduct project appraisals, and ensure smooth handover of Health & Safety (H&S) documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: Extensive experience in Construction & Project Management within the Nuclear or Engineering sectors; deep knowledge of CDM Regulations, Risk Management Processes, and managing employer requirements.
  • Desirable: Professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP), experience with NEC - DMIC - FIDIC contracts, and qualifications in Construction Management or Engineering. Chartered status or membership in a recognized engineering institution is a plus.
