Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Location: Hinkley Point C - Bridgwater, Somerset
Pay: 83,000 - 90,000 per year DOE, plus OT paid at flat rate
Standard Hours: 37.5 per week
Start Date: 26th May
Contract Type: PAYE Contract
Rotation: Option of either 5/2 or 10/4
Accommodation Allowance: 1,140 per month
Mileage: Paid on first and last day of trip
Holidays: 25 days paid holiday plus Bank Holidays
Pension: 8% (matched)
Work Arrangement: On Site
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join our team at Hinkley Point C. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing costs, overseeing legal matters, and ensuring the financial success of a 400 million project. The ideal candidate will not only bring strong technical skills but also a proactive attitude and ability to challenge the status quo.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
- In charge of cost reports and forecasting costs for the project.
- Track project costs to ensure no overspending.
- Work closely with the Senior Project Manager, and other stakeholders including Bylor.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and management of financial concerns.
- Confidently challenge and scrutinize work to ensure client satisfaction.
Legal Case Management:
- Handle legal cases related to the project.
- Ensure all legal activities are documented and managed within project timelines and budgets.
Technical Expertise:
- NEC3 contract proficiency is essential.
- Advantageous to have experience with Cemar.
- Ability to read and interpret P6 plans effectively.
Team Oversight:
- Oversee team of Cost Engineer, NEC Change Manager, and Cost Estimator.
- Ensure the team is aligned with project goals and financial constraints.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in cost control, commercial management, and legal case management within large-scale construction projects.
- Proficient in NEC3 contracts, Cemar, and P6 planning.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with tier 1 and tier 2 contractors.
