Health & Safety Coordinator

Our client is a leading manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to growth and a massive profit increase year upon year, they are looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to work closely with their Site Manager to maintain & continue to develop everything Health & Safety related on site.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Site Manager to continue to develop the health & safety function
  • Maintain and develop everything health & safety orientated
  • Train all employees on health & safety procedures and any new ones that come in
  • Make all employees aware of the benefits of PPE and adhere to the correct usage
  • Participate in investigation of site accident & incidents and identify preventative measures
  • Carry out health & safety induction for new employees
  • Ensure all relevant risk & COSHH assessments are up to date and issued
  • Provide support / training on regular toolbox talks on safety awareness
  • Select & maintain the First Aid and First Marshall teams
  • Carry out health & safety inspection, audits and reporting
  • Work closely with the production teams to develop and identify new procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Production & manufacturing industry experience
  • ISOH qualified as a minimum
  • NEBOSH qualified would be great but not essential, could be working towards this
  • Be an open character, understand that there are flaws and not everything will be perfect all the time
  • Good sense of humour, with an open mindset
  • Strong communicator - able to communicate to all levels, carry out training & presentations
  • Excellent computer skills - Use of MS Office Suites - Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Able to work effectively and own initiative
  • Effective organisational skills and self motivated
  • Able to write reports and new procedures
  • Experienced in health & safety internal auditing
  • Be a proactive self-starter
