Fantastic opportunity to join an approachable and trusted firm of solicitors in Bridgwater as either a Residential and/or Commercial Property Solicitor. As a Property Solicitor, you will join a collaborative, organised and growing team of circa 4 other fee earners plus support staff.

This is a local, yet professional firm, established circa 30 years ago, offering fantastic flexible and hybrid working opportunities.

The requirement is to handle all usual aspects of the usual Conveyancing process, either handling Commercial or Residential matters, but all in line with the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).

Overview:

More specifically, you will:-

  • Deal with new enquiries
  • Prepare draft contract packs
  • Carry out title checks
  • Raise enquiries
  • Utilise the firm’s case management system
  • Keep all parties up to date on matters
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents and any other third parties over the phone
  • Keep detailed attendance notes
  • Ensure SDLT requirements are correctly completed
  • Supervise the team’s assistants
  • Undertake conveyancing and compliance training as and when required

The successful candidate:

  • You will be a Property Solicitor/Legal Executive/Licensed Conveyancer with at least 1+ year experience in the area of residential conveyancing law (or otherwise qualified by experience).
  • You will have experience managing your own caseload from start to finish.
  • You will be expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative and to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • You will be expected to communicate clearly and appropriately and maintain and develop excellent working relationships.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail and understanding of property law to ensure clients obtain a good and marketable title to the property and that the lender’s requirements under the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders’ Handbook are met.
