Project Manager - HVAC

Description & Background:

Hinkley Point 'C' (HPC) is a vital part of the UK's future energy strategy. As the first of the UK's next generation of nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. The successful candidate will provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the Civils Programme, focusing on HVAC systems across industrial buildings, while managing the impacts on the wider Project.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the work scope and interfaces for assigned contracts or work packages
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with the overall programme plan
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders
  • Drive contract delivery safely, on time, and within budget
  • Monitor and manage programme progress, tracking milestones, deadlines, and budgets
  • Anticipate and resolve project issues, identify and manage risks
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Apply Earned Value Management and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the project team

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management (APM Role Profile competency)
  • Understanding of EPR design
  • Strong leadership skills in complex project environments
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Proficient in estimating, scheduling, risk management tools
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills
  • Degree and chartered status in construction, engineering, or related discipline
  • Professional Project Management qualification (APM PPQ or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in: Engineering design and project delivery strategies, Multi-discipline EPCM Projects including HVAC, Complex contract procurement and management, Cost, risk, schedule, and change control
  • Experience managing major projects from concept to handover in technically complex environments
  • Proven ability to engage multi-level stakeholders in regulated environments
  • Experience with NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements
