Job Title

Construction Engineer - Piping

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Coordination
    • Delegate responsibilities to Construction Engineers (CEs) and Works Coordination Leads.
    • Lead, manage, and motivate the team by implementing best practices.
    • Ensure effective collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and client representatives.
  • Scope Management & Documentation
    • Define the boundaries of work scope and ensure alignment with construction activities.
    • Maintain compliance with the latest works information and project documentation.
    • Ensure all documents are up to date, with reviews conducted at least every six months.
    • Own and drive deliverables from inception to final approval, achieving a >90% first-time acceptance rate.
    • Prioritize and manage documentation to align with Level 4 construction plans, ensuring approval at least T-3 months before work commencement.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and procedures.
    • Demonstrate strong HS&E leadership, fostering a safe and compliant culture throughout the construction lifecycle.
    • Ensure adherence to all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.
    • Assess and provide feedback on resource levels to maintain effective support functions.
  • Construction Work Pack Delivery
    • Deliver Construction Work Packs to support project timelines.
    • Utilize relevant systems for construction work management and progress reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with Work Authorisation and Permit systems.
    • Facilitate safe access routes to work areas for construction teams.
    • Oversee topographical and other surveying activities to support construction work.
  • Reporting & Accountability
    • Directly report to the Building Manager or nominated deputy.
    • Take full accountability for delivering discipline-specific work scopes in support of construction activities.
  • Qualifications & Experience
    • Engineering Degree (or Equivalent)
    • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)
    • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
    • CCNSG Safety Passport
    • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH
    • Proven track record in nuclear power preferred
    • Experience working on major construction projects
    • Experienced in delivering and operating at an Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures
