Abatec is assisting their client, a leading civil engineering contractor, in recruiting a freelance Section Engineer for a major project on Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater.
Our client requires a Section Engineer who has worked in a similar position on major civil engineering projects and has experience in the building of complex reinforcement and formwork erection works.
As Section Engineeryou will:
- Manage the programme on a weekly basis
- Supervise the main works and the Site Engineers
- Preparation / Review of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Inspection and Test Plans
- Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.
- Use software to produce sketches, update drawings or produce as-builts 3D models / drawings & verify dimensions and coordinates against 3D models to ensure setting out is correct
- Record Daily Diaries and Spray Concrete Lining quality records
Our client requires a Site Engineer with:
- Degree qualified or relevant civil engineering qualification
- Have, or is studying towards professional (MICE)
- Experience working on major civil engineering projects
- Experience in Reinforced Concrete works
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
- CSCS, SMSTS, and Driving License
Salary/Benefits:
- 450 - 500 per day PAYE
