Description & Background:
Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site, in which the project is to construct two major EPR nuclear plants. An opportunity has arisen within the Construction Delivery Group for a Welding Superintendent to join the team managing and coordinating welding activities for the Hinkley Point C project.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate welding activities on site
• Ensure compliance with welding procedures and standards
• Supervise welding teams and contractors
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks
• Collaborate with Temporary Works Coordinators and Supervisors
• Provide technical advice on welding matters to Project and Construction teams
• Proactively identify potential welding issues and implement mitigating actions
• Ensure execution of works is in accordance with approved risk assessments, method statements, designs, and specifications
Experience Required:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Civil/Structural Engineering with a focus on welding
• Demonstrable experience as a Welding Superintendent or similar role on major construction projects
• In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, procedures, and standards
• Familiarity with nuclear construction regulations and safety standards
• Strong understanding of Temporary Works procedures and BS 5975:2019
• SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification

• Hinkley Point C Site, Somerset
Salary + Hours:
• Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
• £445 PAYE to £610 UMBRELLA per day
