Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Test Technician, you will work closely with Senior Engineers and Test Technicians, supporting testing and analysis tasks, ensuring high accuracy and precision in measurement and alignment. Your duties will include testing equipment for functionality, checking pass/fail criteria, surface tracing, and evaluating whether components leak or degrade. We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical background and excellent manual skills, who can contribute to a well-established team and thrive in an environment that values high attention to detail and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical tests on components and equipment to determine performance, accuracy, and alignment.
- Collaborate with senior test engineers to ensure pass/fail criteria are met for all testing.
- Use metrology and measurement tools to ensure components are tested to the highest standards.
- Assist with setting up test equipment, ensuring all components are correctly aligned and calibrated.
- Test for component degradation and leakage, ensuring products meet quality requirements.
- Work within a small team, following processes that have been developed to ensure accuracy and high performance.
- Participate in shadowing and training activities to develop your skills and knowledge.
Key Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering background, with hands-on experience in testing and measurement.
- Basic IT skills (Excel, Word).
- HNC/HND level education in mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Practical engineering experience (e.g., tool room, CNC, mechanical lab) is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work meticulously.
- Ability to check and adjust the alignment of equipment, troubleshoot and perform measurements manually.
- Open attitude and a willingness to learn; experience in a mechanical lab would be ideal but not required.
- Strong team-fit attitude, as collaboration is key to this role.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Salary between 28,000 - 32,000, depending on experience.
