Morson Talent are working on behalf of a major player within the Energy Sector who have current requirements for experienced Operational Draftspersons (2x headcount) to join their client's established site-based team in Somerset. This is a unique opportunity to build upon and consolidate your experience whilst working on one of Europe's largest infrastructure Projects.

Contract positions (renewable) – inside IR35.

Overview

The Operational Draftsperson will be responsible for generating and revising P&IDs and electrical drawings to support the Project Commissioning and Operations teams, in alignment with the project schedule. In addition to producing these drawings, the draftsperson will ensure compliance with relevant processes and provide advisory support on related documentation. To facilitate the creation of drawings, the draftsperson will be expected to utilise project documentation from several disciplines.

An Operational Draftsperson ensures that drawings are available to support the programs outlined above, as well as the Commissioning organisation throughout the construction, commissioning and the operational phase of the Project.

Principal Accountabilities

    • Generate and modify electrical diagrams and P&IDs to support the CommOps organization.
    • Support with the production of other drawings outside the scope of electrical and P&IDs as required.
    • Ensure compliance with processes governing the creation, approval, validation, and revision of drawings.
    • Recommend improvements to drawings based on prior experience and lessons learned.
    • Ensure drawings are produced and updated in accordance with project timelines.
    • Collaborate with the Operational Procedures team to assist in the production of drawings.
    • Extract relevant data from various project documents to create accurate drawings.

Criteria

    • 3+ years of relevant experience producing electrical drawings and P&IDs.
    • Relevant qualifications.
    • Experience of extracting data from design documents.
    • Proficient user of AutoCAD / 3D AutoCAD.
    • Drives for continuous learning and improvement.
    • A proactive analytical thinker with an ability to work with minimal supervision and on their own initiative.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organisational and IT skills.

Desirable

    • Experience of working within a project organisation.
    • Demonstrable experience within nuclear or similarly, highly regulated processes/environs.
