Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently recruiting for a Production Shift Manager for one of our clients based in BS4.£50,000 per annumPermanentRotating Shift: Week 1 - Monday to Friday (06:00-14:00) / Week 2 - Monday to Friday (14:00-22:00)Job Description:
  • To support the Site Production Manager on key projects on site and assume site landlord responsibilities in his absence.
  • If required, provide support to other branches within the region at shift supervisory level
  • Visibly demonstrate that SHEQ will not be compromised by other business needs
  • Allocate work to a shift of Cylinder Operatives in order to achieve daily targets for cylinder filling and handling.
  • Ensure cylinder vehicles are loaded correctly and in line with distribution requirements
  • Liaise with site Asset Control Co-ordinator, the SCC and other branches if necessary to ensure that stocks of filled cylinders are adequate to meet the requirements of customers
  • Ensure full compliance with Individual Cylinder Control (ICC) system is implemented to ensure full traceability at individual cylinder level is achieved so that IS systems (SAP, InLabel) accurately reflect the actual site stock position at all times.
  • Supporting the cylinder stock management team, ensuring accurate documentation confirmation and control of procedures are established and maintained
  • Lead & support local & Regional risk assessment activities
  • Enforce compliance with mandatory rules and procedures, addressing non-compliance issues through refresher training, coaching, support or the use of consequence management to written warning level if necessary.
  • Deal with front line man-management problems to ensure smooth employee relations and avoidance of formal disputes
  • Undertake employee engagement during workplace visits with the emphasis on recognising and rewarding correct behaviour, addressing unsafe behaviour and substandard conditions.
  • Maintain effective communications both individually and with the team through established systems including team briefings or group meeting
Requirements:
  • Competent Influencing Skills
  • People and Change Management Skills and experience in a Trade Union environment
  • Working knowledge of  SHEQ
  • Proven track record in managing and motivating personnel to develop their skills and encourage their participation.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels to avoid potential IR problems in a climate of change
  • Ability to understand and react to the fluctuating demands of the business to maintain high efficiency and customer satisfaction within agreed cost parameters
