Duties: (not exhaustive)

  • Taking care of the day to day needs of the young people. Attending appointments, education, cleaning, cooking and engaging in activities (both in house and outside).
  • You will need to ensure consistent care within a safe environment to encourage children and young people to develop and grow.
  • Encouraging young people to make positive choices in their life and benchmark these positive milestones.
  • Filling in daily paperwork to a high standard and liaising with the professional network around the child which can include Social Workers, Police, Mental health services and youth offending team.
  • You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them. Showing resilience and remaining calm and loving through period of crisis for the young person.
  • You will create timetables, set boundaries and expectations for the young people, consistency and organisation skills are key.
  • Advocate for our children and young people to ensure that their voices are heard.
  • Ensure preparation for internal and external audit and inspection purposes.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures in relation to children, staff and others (professionals & visitors) are implemented.
  • Always promote equality in respect of standards of care, staff behaviour and performance.
  • To work with the Registered Manager to provide the highest standards of care and supervision, ensuring sensitivity, dignity and respect towards children and staff.

Please note: This would include weekends and bank holiday working - you would also be expected to undertake sleep in duties for the home.

Requirements:

  • All applicants will be subject to a satisfactory probation period.
  • Applicants must have a full UK driving licence.
  • Applicants should hold or be willing to work towards QCF Level 3/4 in Children's Health & Social Care
