Job Title: Works Manager (Permanent)
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (Hinkley Point C)

Role Overview:
We are working with a large contractor seeking a Works Manager for a major energy project in Bridgwater. Your role will involve:

  • Leading by example in safety, quality, and environmental best practices.
  • Managing site supervision, subcontractors, and workforce.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Overseeing project schedules, resources, and operational activities.
  • Attending safety, commercial, and business meetings.
  • Developing and managing the team, including training and performance reviews.
  • Maintaining professional standards and managing client relations.

Requirements:
Mandatory:

  • Prior experience at managerial level
  • Strong knowledge of safety, environmental issues, and civil engineering.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, BIM 360, and other site management tools.
  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management, SMSTS certification, and experience with NEC contracts.

Desirable:

  • First Aid certification.
  • Participation in development programs.
