Circa 550 per day (Inside IR35)

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a leading construction and industrial services organisation across the Energy sector space to recruit a Health and Safety Lead. The company are multifaceted, and this role will work on a large infrastructure construction project in the Somerset area. The organisation is looking for someone with excellent management skills and proven experience in leading and developing a team. This role will take place on site full time, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Lead will include:

• Managing a team of Health and Safety Advisors to ensure they can achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the health and safety across the site
• Lead and focus on the coaching and development of the safety team
• Conducting gap analysis to identify root cause and implementing recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
• Auditing and reporting on health and safety performance
• Constantly assessing opportunities for health and safety improvements and sharing best practice across the site

The successful Health and Safety Lead will have:

• Proven experience in a similar role ideally within construction, heavy engineering or a related industry
• Hold a NEBOSH Certificate, and ideally another level 6 health and safety qualification, or be a Graduate Member of IOSH (GradIOSH) status
• Security Clearance and CSCS Black Card is desirable
• Experience operating at site influencing and engaging key stakeholders
• A NEBOSH / NCRQ certificate or equivalent
