We are delighted to be working with a fantastic employer based in the Bridlington area who are looking to bring an additional Senior IT Support Infrastructure Engineer into their IT team.
What the Senior IT Support Engineer job involves
- Supporting the IT Manager and the wider IT team with a number of UK and global projects from the roll out of laptops across the business, Software upgrades and the implementation of ITIL and ITSM to name a few.
- Providing 2 nd and 3 rd line support to employees across two sites in the region.
- Providing support for colleagues and customers with day to day networking and IT issues.
- Support with business continuity planning and testing along with any disaster recovery and fixes independently and maintaining backup systems and any file restore requests.
- Working on a group IT system and software standardisation project as well as updating the internal helpdesk software system.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software asset inventory system.
- Conducting daily health checks of servers, desktops and network infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
- Support with the implementation of Cyber Essentials and the ISO 27001 as new and ongoing projects.
- Supporting with assessing any cyber security trends and look at preventative measures that could include data encryption and anti-virus protection.
- Rolling out new software upgrades such as Windows 11.
Skills required
- Experience with technical IT infrastructure and 3 rd line support.
- Experience or working for a Managed Service provider / IT Consultancy supporting businesses and dealing with technical fixes and projects.
- Experience of working with ERP systems.
- SAN, NAZ, Linux, VM Ware, Azure and Windows 365 experience
- Able to build servers, back them up and implement correct software and licences.
- Cyber Security knowledge would be beneficial, although not essential.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, able to work with colleagues across all departments of a business.
