We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Director of Building Surveying to manage our team of building surveyors and property professionals. This role is pivotal in overseeing the delivery of estate improvement and expansion projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, enthusiastic, organised, and possess strong leadership qualities to motivate and drive the team towards excellence.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Ensure adherence to the company’s processes, technical and behavioural standards.
  • Manage the technical team, ensuring quality assurance and compliance with H&S standards.
  • Oversee resource planning and lead the planning and delivery of applications for government funding.
  • Innovate and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of company processes and procedures.
  • Act as a committed and positive member of the senior leadership team, motivating all team members.
  • Analyse and solve problems effectively, directing the team towards solutions.
  • Foster and maintain solid client account management, ensuring team contribution.
  • Prepare fee proposals and set up projects for the technical team, with associate support.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of company processes and procedures.
  • Develop new business opportunities and support marketing and diversification strategies.
  • Manage regional/national framework opportunities and promote cross-selling across divisions.
  • Organise and participate in appraisals for the Building Surveying and Support Team.
  • Focus on staff growth, development, and training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven senior level & managerial experience within a property consultancy delivering design and contract administration services.
  • Experience providing services to the public sector, ideally the Education Sector.
  • Well-rounded in all areas of managerial responsibility and building surveying.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Check will be required due to work with education clients.
