A market-leading Specialist Insurance Company are looking to recruit a Risk Manager to play a lead role within their Risk and Compliance team, ensuring that risks are identified and minimized as the business continues to grow.

The Risk Manager will will help safeguard the business and keep material risks under control.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the ERM Framework, establishing and quantifying the organisation’s 'risk appetite'.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and analysis to identify potential risk factors affecting business operations.
  • Reporting risk and associated metrics appropriately to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensuring appropriate corporate governance to safeguard the business.
  • Regularly review risk documentation regularly to ensure they are compliant with both internal and external requirements.
  • Early identification of emerging risk through horizon scanning.
  • Be the key contact point and liaison for all internal and external auditors.
  • Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the business.

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous risk management experience gained within Insurance or broader Financial Services
  • Hold a recognised professional qualification: Institute of Risk Management. Qualified Accountant or Risk Professional.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to understand broad business issues.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to be a collaborator and team player.
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making with a proactive and preventive approach.
  • Analytical skills with a good eye for detail.

Salary/Benefits Information:

  • Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working - 2 days / week in the office.
  • 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
