Press Team Leader.Location: Brierley Hill, West Midlands.Hours: 2 shift patterns, 06:00 to 14:00 and afternoons 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday & 12:00 to 19:30 Friday.Salary: £15.50 per hour including shift allowance.I am delighted to be recruiting for a Press team leader to join my client who is one of the leading providers in their industry. They consistently produce best-in-class products and technologies with vertically integrated manufacturing and in-house facilities.The role requires an experienced Team Leader with a background in a fast-paced production environment.The candidate will also need an excellent understanding of sheet metal processing, press brakes, with linishing, inserting, riveting, welding, and pad printing a distinct advantage.The successful press team leader candidate will provide adequate supervision of all operations within the press shop and have responsibility for leading a small team to meet customer demand via adherence to company processes and procedures.*Please note the role is a direct role, and the candidate will be expected to produce work in addition to leading the team.Team Leader responsibilities:
  • Ensures the Health & Safety of the team is not compromised.
  • Plans are shared with the team for the work requirements.
  • Ensures staff are competent and trained to carry out assigned tasks safely, on time and to quality standards.
  • Ensures that shop floor production areas are running correctly with appropriate materials, tools, and documentation.
  • Deals with appropriate HR related tasks.
  • Works effectively with others, builds required relationships, and communicates well with team members & management.
  • Leads and delivers the Visual Management Board.
Other accountabilities / responsibilities:
  • Always demonstrate and contribute to the 3 fundamental areas of focus - Health & Safety, Quality and Target awareness.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment ensuring team operate safely fostering an 'area readiness' approach.
  • Work to the current schedule of orders and quality procedures in completing tasks undertaken.
  • Ensure any scrap parts are recorded on relevant documentation.
  • Collecting relevant shift data and updating appropriate system documentation.
  • Ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted and addressed as they occur to facilitate a resolution.
