Job Advert: Teaching Assistant VacanciesAre you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team at a special school in Dudley.About the School:Our school caters to students aged 4-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties. We provide a secure, happy environment where each child's individual needs are recognised and supported. With a student body of approximately 152, we offer tailored educational programs and specialist interventions from a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) that includes school nurses, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and more.Types of Needs:Our students have a variety of special educational needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Challenges with social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviours.
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Difficulties with attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.
- Speech and Language Disorders: Issues with communication, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Learning Disabilities: Challenges in reading, writing, maths, and other academic areas.
- Physical Disabilities: Mobility issues requiring physical support and accommodations.
- Emotional and Behavioural Disorders: Anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs.
- Assist students with their learning activities, ensuring they are engaged and motivated.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with varying needs.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Assist with daily living skills such as feeding, hygiene, and toileting.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Adapt activities and materials to meet individual student needs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with special needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare are desirable.

Vacancies:We have both full-time and part-time vacancies available.
