Job Advert: Part-Time Teaching Assistants (TAs)Location: Stourbridge AreaWe are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join a dynamic, nurturing school based in the Stourbridge area. This school provides exceptional support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Some students may need assistance with their mobility, personal care, and managing behaviour, while others may need support with communication, concentration, or emotional regulation. You will work closely with teaching staff to help create an engaging, stimulating environment where pupils can flourish.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Assist in the delivery of tailored lesson plans and individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Help pupils develop social, communication, and personal skills in a supportive manner.
- Encourage positive behaviour, supporting pupils to manage their emotions and reactions.
- Assist with classroom resources, set-up, and ongoing activities.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where each pupil feels valued.
- Work closely with class teachers and other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to implement specific strategies for each child.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with additional or special educational needs, is highly desirable.
- An empathetic, patient, and understanding approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the unique needs of each pupil.
- A strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other professionals.
- Good communication skills, able to work with children, parents, and colleagues in a respectful and clear manner.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed and feel included.
