Benjamin Edwards is excited to be recruiting a Finance Business Partner for this client. You will be working in their ultra-modern high tech head office, supporting the Head of Finance and be an integral member of a management team that is driving growth and success. You would be joining the business at a very exciting time in their continued success and growth.

THE ROLE OF FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER

As a core part of the Finance team, in this fast-paced FMCG environment, you will support Operational and Commercial business partners by developing solid costing processes, controls and reporting, utilising newly implemented ERP and BI tools to evolve management information, and support and drive change to help increase competitiveness and value throughout the business.

This role is incredibly varied and every day you will have the opportunity to make a real difference. A business facing role, you won’t be stuck behind a desk, instead you will need to be developing relationships with colleagues outside of finance and supporting a wide range of projects and business improvements. You will be supported by the senior management team, and you will have every opportunity to be successful and further develop your career.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with key stakeholders, evolve management reporting utilising newly implemented ERP and BI reporting tools.
  • Analyse Financial and Business data to assess and challenge performance, and to assist management decision making.
  • Evolve and embed recently implemented standard costing methodology, throughout the organisation.
  • Take a hands-on approach with the Sales and Operations teams to assist and guide activities ranging from new business development and commercial pricing, planning and forecasting, through to factory performance measurement and improvement.
  • Lead in process development and working with management to drive meaningful insights and control to support and influence business performance.
  • Play a key role in supporting the businesses improvement goals this is a great opportunity to be involved in a range of development projects:
  • Support optimisation of the newly implemented ERP & BI systems, taking a lead role in creating insightful information and change management to improve business performance.
  • Support, drive, and lead projects as required to deliver business improvement including Finance led initiatives through to providing finance support to operational or customer facing projects.
  • As part of a small, focussed, team, assist the wider Finance team with ad hoc duties as required and be happy to act as cover and support to broader finance activities.

  • Have good knowledge and experience of ERP & reporting systems, Dynamics & Power BI desirable.
  • Have experience and understanding of process manufacturing and standard costing methodology.
  • Be naturally inquisitive with a mind set to ask why, and a desire to get involved and make things happen - able to utilise strong analytical capabilities (as a given) to bring meaningful insights and make a real difference.
  • Getting to know the business, our people, and our stakeholders is central to success. Confident verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Culturally bring a sense of humour and desire to enjoy their time at work.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FOR THE ROLE

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or qualified by experience.
  • A desire to get involved and make things happen.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytically minded with the ability to turn data into insight and action.
  • Good knowledge and experience of ERP & reporting systems. MS Dynamics & Power BI experience is desired but not essential.
  • Manufacturing sector experience would be preferable although not essential.
  • Process and systems orientated (MS ERP, Power BI, Advanced Excel and other systems expertise highly desirable).
  • Experience of working alongside management in a manufacturing / FMCG environment preferred.
