Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting for a successful construction business in Brigg as they look to recruit a Finance Manager into the team. The company has been recently acquired by a large group so it will be receiving further investment and has exciting growth plans for the future, 

Reporting into the Financial Director, this role will be a key role within the team, acting as a number 2, managing 2 part qualified accountants. The role covers both strategic and operational aspects of the business from a finance perspective. You will provide financial analysis and insight to the business management team, working closely with both the commercial and operational teams. You will also be tasked with implementing systems and controls to drive efficiencies within the provision of timely management information and reporting and to act as a key contact to internal and external parties.

Duties and responsibilities will include: - 

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including customer invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking and payroll
  • Management of a small bookkeeping/ledger team, providing strong support and guidance to ensure they are appropriately motivated and driven to carry out their responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Timely preparation of detailed accurate information on financial performance including profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Work together with the Financial Director to develop and implement systems, processes and controls across the business that improve financial compliance and efficiencies in reporting and allow for the provision of financial and non-financial KPI’s to management
  • Profit and loss analysis, tracking spend and carrying out variance analysis against budgets, identifying opportunity for cost savings
  • Overall responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns
  • Support working capital monitoring, reporting, and scenario planning processes
  • Support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
  • Various ad hoc/ project work and analysis

To be successful you will have the following skills and experiences: - 

  • Fully qualified accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clarify and communicate complex issues to non-financial people
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • High level of Excel and systems competency
  • Experience of working in a changeable environment, with exposure to working with senior management
