Our client is well-established manufacturer whose products are integral in a number of industries are seeking a new Purchasing Manager. Based in Leeds you will lead a team in the sourcing of components and services while controlling inventory and stock. It is important you have previous experience managing people and know how to improve performance of those that work for you through hands-on coaching and mentorship. 

Purchasing Manager - Role and Responsibilities - Buyer / Supply Chain / Procurement / Purchasing / Buying

- Manage and mentor other members of the department
- Preparation and monitoring of Budget
- Provide input on strategic business issues relating to purchasing
- Implementation of purchasing strategy in line with business goals
- Monitoring of products in order to maintain availability in line with sales forecast
- Maintain stock within budget expectations
- Improve cost for products where possible while maintaining supplier quality and service levels
- Develop strong supplier relationships via visits and regular contact
- Sourcing of new supplier streams to reduce cost
- Ensure accurate import documentation
- Regular management reporting on stock value budget and forecasts
- Authorise invoice payments

Purchasing Manager - Skills and Abilities - Buyer / Supply Chain / Procurement / Purchasing / Buying

- Educated to CIPS Level 4 or equivalent
- Hands on supply chain management
- Near and far resourcing
- Importation documentation
- Managing a commercial team
- Ability to read an Engineering drawing
