Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role involves supporting the Management Accountant in maintaining the financial health of our organization by providing accurate financial reports and insightful analysis.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and reconcile ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
  • Assist with year-end closing processes and audits.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial data.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Part-qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of UK tax regulations.
