Grafton Banks Finance is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller/ Head of Finance/ Finance Director to join an established local business (SME) in Brighton and boasting a fun, sociable and relaxed culture.
Acting as Head of Finance this role requires an enthusiastic individual to take temporary responsibility for leading a small team producing the month end reporting, year-end accounts, payroll and utilising time driven activity based costing.
The role reports to the CEO and has the potential to lead to a permanent Financial Controller or Finance Director position.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Lead and deliver on year-end accounts, annual budgets, quarterly budgets, and forecasting
- Manage payroll (outsourced), set KPIs, ensure tax and VAT compliance
- Oversee income recognition, manage accrued and deferred income, utilisation reporting, profit management, and pensions management
- Manage monthly cash flow, major expenditures, supplier management, and income tracking
The successful candidate must be
- Available to start Immediately (w/c 17th February)
- Qualified Accountant with 3+ years post qualified experience
- Experience working in SME environment
- Must be very hands-on – happy in the detail of producing monthly management accounts, payroll review, and understand operational finance.
- High-level skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Xero
- Ideally have time-based costing experience
- Live locally (able to be in the Brighton office 3 days per week)
