Reed Finance are seeking a Head of Legal Cashiering to join our client, a leading Sussex law firm to oversee their accounts department and ensure all transactional and compliance requirements are adhered to.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding the firm's financial integrity and supporting the firm’s broader regulatory and financial obligations to support their ongoing growth. Due to the nature of the industry, previous experience with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules gained within the legal industry is essential.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee all transactions including payments, receipts, transfers, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Manage internal and external financial relationships including client funds.
  • Lead the firm's compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, keeping updated with changes and ensuring all procedures meet regulatory standards.
  • Manage and develop a team of accounts staff.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial controls and policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and experience managing client transactions.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
