Practice Accountant 6-12 month contract Based in Brighton Hybrid working, 2- 3 days a week in the office (can be a 4 day week)£55,000 - £65,000 plus further benefits and progression

Tony Alan Recruitment is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join busy and unique opportunity to work for independent firm in the Brighton area initially on a 6 month contract.

This would suit someone from practice or someone who has covered practice and commercial to assist and troubleshoot new projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Limited company accounts for a variety of clients to be reviewed by Managers / Directors
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax computations for review
  • Preparation of partnership and sole trade accounts
  • Preparation of personal and partnership tax returns
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns
  • Management accounts preparation
  • Planning and delivery of audit assignments
  • Deliver the audit files in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Supervise junior staff during the audit and review their work
  • Manage client communication in an effective manner
  • Monitor your assignment budgets pro-actively
  • Highlight any deficiencies with client records or areas for concern to Managers / Directors and recommend actions for improvement
  • Mentor junior accountants and audit trainees

Key Skills:

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Minimum 3 years relevant accountancy practice experience
  • Highly personable with excellent communication skills
  • Available at short notice
