Senior Group Accountant

Brighton/Home, some travel to Berkshire

£60-80,000 plus benefits (DOE)

Grafton Banks are representing a progressive and acquisitive group £50m to fill a newly created Senior Group Accountant role. Backed by Private Equity, this is an exciting time to join the business as you will have the opportunity to assist in group acquisitions and play a role in shaping the business moving forward. Reporting to the Financial Controller, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to drive financial excellence by leading acquisitions, streamlining reporting processes, and ensuring accurate consolidation across the group.

With a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach, you will help implement key financial controls, support year-end and monthly reporting, and collaborate with external auditors—all while contributing to our vision of taking the business to the next level.

Responsibilities Include:

  • To assist with future acquisitions for the group and integrate the entities as part of the current group and financial reporting systems
  • To support the completion of year end statutory accounts for individual subsidiaries and the consolidation process
  • To support the monthly management accounts process ensuring timely and accurate reporting to key stakeholders – involving trading subsidiaries as well as holding companies and overall consolidation for the group
  • To prepare monthly analysis of balance sheet accounts, including payables and debtors’ analysis
  • To assist with the implementation of key controls and processes within the group
  • Business Partner across Finance and the wider business to support and challenge where required
  • Mentor Junior Team Members

Essential Skills Required –

  • Fully Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • 2 years post qualified experience in industry
  • Solid financial accounting / group accounting experience for a multi entity group
  • Have the right to work in UK without sponsorship
  • Be ambitious, hungry and keen to grow and succeed in a developing and ever-changing organisation.
