Trainee Accountant

TPF Recruitment is proud to support a Top 45 accountancy and business advisory firm in Brighton in their search for a Trainee Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to advance to the Semi-Senior level within the next year. You will join a dynamic, fast-growing firm that works with an exciting portfolio of clients and has ambitious plans to become a Top 20 UK practice through organic growth and strategic mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Management: Work closely with owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships, and companies.
• Accounts Preparation: Prepare accurate financial statements and accounts for clients.
• Record Processing: Process client records efficiently and accurately.
• Management Accounts: Assist in the preparation of management accounts tailored to client needs.
• VAT Returns: Complete and review VAT returns to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Client Support: Address basic client queries and provide necessary support.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties and ad hoc tasks as required.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Prior experience in an accountancy or finance-related role.
• AAT Level 4 (completed or nearing completion) or an individual beginning ACCA studies.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to client service.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proactive, results-oriented, and committed to delivering value.
• A strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
