Operations Executive - School Travel Company

Our client, a specialist in providing bespoke educational school trips, is looking for an Operations Executive to join their team, to continue their expansion.

This role is focused on managing all aspects of transportation logistics for the group, including bookings, supplier relationships, and driving efficient business processes. You will work closely with their own coach company, and external suppliers to ensure seamless transport operations and cost-effective solutions.

With three decades of expertise in running unforgettable travel experiences, our client is a well-established name in its field. In this role, you will deliver exceptional customer service and maintain effective communication with suppliers for the successful execution of their tours.

This represents a compelling opportunity for an individual with experience in a related field, or for someone with a strong attention to detail who is eager to use their past experience to step into this exciting position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee transportation bookings, including coaches, ferries, and shuttle buses.
  • Produce and analyse booking reports, ensuring data accuracy in Travel Studio and Power BI.
  • Manage coach invoices, supplier negotiations, and the development of a reliable supplier database.
  • Monitor and manage customer feedback regarding transport, including handling emergencies and complaints.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Head of Sales, and Coach company to optimise coach capacity and reduce costs.
  • Lead the Health & Safety audit process for transport services, supported by a H&S executive.

The successful applicant will have the following characteristics:

  • Strong organisational skills with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Experience with travel booking systems and supplier management.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and provide excellent customer service.
  • Attention to detail is essential

The role will be primarily office based with some flexibility to work from home (2 days) outside of peak business times. There are reduced working hours in the summer school holidays.
