Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Cashier with experience to join an innovate Legal 500 law firm. The successful Legal Cashier will benefit from an extremely flexible work pattern where they can be hybrid as long as they have access to one of my clients offices in Brighton, Horsham, Tunbridge Wells or Ascot. You will be able to work up to 3 days from home and will be rewarded with an impressive benefits package including a 25-day holiday allowance plus bank holidays, a generous salary and wellbeing initiatives. This is a full-time permanent job opportunity in legal finance.

Role Responsibilities

The incoming Legal Cashier will carry out a range of duties including:

  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules in relation to all tasks
  • Logging funds, noting protected where required, plus enter anticipated and actual disbursements, onto the ledgers
  • Reconciling LEAP client account to the Lloyds client bank account daily and
  • Preparing regular payment instructions for the Directors to include Client to Office transfers, payment information for disbursements, overhead invoices, expenses and consultants.
  • Reviewing the bank office account to ensure all payment instructions have been actioned.
  • Dealing with any accounts queries as may arise.
  • Advising the Directors of any potential SAR or Breach issues.
  • Preparing month end reports and reconciliations for signing.
  • Regularly monitor credit balances ensuring return of funds to clients as soon as possible.
  • Adhering to the Company Manual and advise the Directors of any gaps or suggest more efficient processes.
  • To assist the Directors with any matter that may arise.
  • Processing payments on a daily basis

Person Specification

The incoming Legal Cashier will have experience as a Legal Cashier or Finance Assistant. Also, to be successful for this job you will have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Working and current knowledge of SAR Accounts Rules and AML compliance
  • Working and current knowledge of LEAP
  • Knowledge of Xero is highly advantageous
  • 5 years and recent experience is essential, experience in family law is advantageous
