Location: Brighton, East Sussex (Ideally a driver)

Contract Type: Temporary - permanent

Hours: 9am - 5pm

Salary: Up to 33k (temp equivalent)

Job Description:

We are delighted to be partnering with Real Estate company with the hire of a Temporary Accounts Assistant. For the right candidate there is a good chance of going permanent. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, a proactive approach, and experience working in a similar role and be able to start at short notice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process payments, including BACS, cheques, and online transfers.
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions.
  • Support other accounting and finance-related tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Assistant role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, XERO).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Desirable:

  • AAT qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience in a similar industry.
