Sous Chef - £34k to £36k plus tips, plus overtime - Brighton, mix of shifts, brigade of 10 to 12, meat free and veg-centric dining experience, 28 days paid holiday, company pension scheme, 40% off when you dine with us, uniform provided and cleaned, cycle to work scheme, established restaurant, good work life balance as rotate weekends off when full brigade, 40-48 hour week. Closed Mondays during the day, but open in the evenings, closed Christmas and closed 1st week of January. I CAN NOTaccept skilled workers Visa Sponsorship or Visa Transfer.

We are looking for an energetic and passionate Sous Chef to join the team. You will be involved in every step of the food preparation process, from planning to cooking to plating as well as assisting with daily food orders.

My client is a Brighton based restaurant and brand with loyal customers who want outstanding quality and value for money. Their food is about taste, satisfaction and pleasure. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple tasks at a time and be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Able to work under pressure at times
  • Assist the Head Chef in food preparation
  • Be responsible for the kitchen staff.
  • Maintain food quality and cleanliness standards
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is functioning properly before each service.

Qualifications

  • Strong culinary skills with a focus on food safety and hygiene
  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking with a professional kitchen.
  • Leadership abilities to supervise the kitchen team and manage team dynamics
  • Background in restaurant operations
  • Experience in food production and team management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
