Nursery Baby Unit Manager –  Brighton -  Starting ASAP This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Nursery Manager to join a professional and supportive team, at a welcoming Baby Unit nursery in Brighton. Having previous Deputy Manager or Baby Room leader experience is a must. This Nursery is happy to consider Senior staff looking for that step up and career progression. Having a strong Senior Management team, across both sites of their baby unit and pre school, they are always at hand to guide and support at all times.  This is a permanent, year-round position that is available to start as soon as possible!

The role As a Nursery Manager, you will oversee the day to day, smooth running on the Nursery floor, (This is a room based role, not office based). You will be ensuring adherence to regulations while upholding outstanding standards in people management, and educational quality. Your position will combine your knowledge of running a successful baby room, following the EYFS and the nurseries policies and procedures. Managing the daily smooth running of the nursery will include planning educational activities, parent liaising, staff mentoring and leadership, and fostering an environment where children can flourish in safety, learning, and enjoyment.

You will be expected to take responsibility for the management of your nursery, ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to, while also complying with EYFS statutory requirements, health and safety legislation, and Ofsted standards.

The ideal candidate The nursery believes the quality of staff is crucial to children's success and therefore you must have the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, or working towards management level is desired
  • Qualified to a Level 3 or higher in Early Years Education
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and pedagogy
  • Staff mentoring and leadership Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Being a positive role model!
  • A flexible can-do attitude
  • Passion for working with young children
