SEMH Teaching Assistant needed for a special school catering for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including those with Asperger’s Syndrome and those with a diagnosis of ADHD

We are looking for flexible Teaching Assistants who are open to both short and long term contracts to start as soon as possible.

Our teaching assistants’ duties can include:

  • Working with small groups of pupils
  • Providing intervention support
  • 1:1 support for SEMH and lower ability pupils
  • Strong behaviour management strategies

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Some experience of working with children, in a personal or professional capacity, or in a school with the ability to foster positive relationships between children and adults alike.
  • Bundles of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils
  • High energy levels with the ability to be calm, nurturing and empathetic.
  • Working with students who have challenging behaviour, attachment and trauma.
  • Passionate about supporting students and their social and emotional journey
