About the Role

As an Assistant Ecologist, you'll work alongside a team of experienced ecologists on a variety of projects across Sussex and beyond. Your role will involve assisting with ecological surveys, collecting and analysing data, and contributing to the preparation of ecological reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting fieldwork, including protected species surveys (e.g., bats, reptiles, amphibians) and habitat surveys

  • Data recording and analysis

  • Assisting with the preparation of technical reports and maps

  • Contributing to ecological assessments and mitigation plans

  • Collaborating with team members and clients to deliver high-quality work

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related subject

  • A keen interest in British wildlife and conservation

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • A full UK driving licence (desirable)

  • Previous experience in ecological fieldwork (an advantage but not essential)
